Your Next Step
How to Become a Christian
Salvation is simpler than you think. It's not about being perfect — it's about being willing.
This Is the Most Important Decision You'll Ever Make
Becoming a Christian isn't about joining a club, cleaning up your life first, or saying the right magic words. It's about a sincere turning of your heart toward Jesus — acknowledging who He is, what He did, and choosing to trust Him with your life.
The Bible says that if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. That's it. That's the promise. Let's walk through what that looks like.
Believe in Your Heart
Believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God — that He lived a sinless life, died on the cross to pay for your sins, and rose from the dead three days later. This isn't just intellectual agreement. It's a deep, personal trust — staking your life on the truth that Jesus is who He said He is.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
— John 3:16
Turn Away From Sin
Repentance means turning — changing direction. It's acknowledging that you've lived apart from God and choosing to walk toward Him instead. This doesn't mean you'll be perfect from this moment on. It means you're genuinely willing to let God change you. He does the transforming; you just have to be willing.
"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord."
— Acts 3:19
Confess With Your Mouth
Confession is declaring out loud — to God and to yourself — that Jesus is Lord of your life. It's the outward expression of an inward decision. You don't have to say it perfectly. You just have to mean it. God hears the sincere cry of every heart.
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
— Romans 10:9
Receive His Gift
Salvation is a gift — not something you earn, deserve, or work for. You simply receive it by faith, with open hands and an open heart. When you do, the Bible says you are born again. You become a new creation. The old is gone; the new has come.
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."
— John 1:12
Pray Right Now
A Prayer of Salvation
If you're ready to give your life to Jesus, you can pray right now. There's no formula — God hears the sincere prayer of every heart. Here is a simple prayer to guide you:
Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead. I confess that I am a sinner and I need You. I turn away from my old life and I turn to You. I invite You into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. I am Yours. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer sincerely, the Bible says you are saved. Welcome to the family of God. This is the beginning of the greatest adventure of your life.
What Comes Next
You're Not Alone From Here
Read the Bible
Start with the Gospel of John. It's the story of Jesus — who He is, what He said, and what He did. Read a little each day and let God speak to you through it.
Talk to God
Prayer is simply talking to God. You don't need special words. Tell Him what's on your heart — your fears, your hopes, your questions. He is listening.
Find a Church
Look for a local church where the Bible is taught and people genuinely love one another. Community is one of God's greatest gifts to new believers.
Tell Someone
Share what happened with someone you trust. Saying it out loud makes it real — and it might be the most important thing you ever say to that person.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
